This morning on the news the weather man predicted rain all day. What a liar. It had rained in the morning, but stopped in the afternoon, around lunch time. And to make things even worse, it was freezing! Blair wasn't going to fuss over todays weather forecast though, to her today felt like forever. She'd been bored all day. For some reason everyone seemed to not be attending any classes today. And she hadn't seen anyone who she wanted to talk to, not all day. Blair walked out of the school and looked around to see which of the few chairs that didn't get soaked. She sat on one of the chairs that was dry and rested her chin in her hands, letting out a huff. She closed her eyes, wishing for the school day to end, just so she could get it over with. She was so bored.

LB said ‘fuck this school day.’ He wanted to go home. The classes were boring as hell today, and it seemed like nobody had any juicy news. It looked like the school was due for some instigation; that meant a party was in order!
He was called an Elite, among the most popular or most hated, according to whoever you were. That meant nothing to him though. His conduct was more rebellious than anything, as if he’d fit in more with the Rebels, or even the Jocks. His lyrical skills with words and rap could have made him an Artist. He was independent enough to be labeled a Loner. Such was his ability to chameleon himself and talk to anybody has made him an Elite. He knew who his homies were. He knew what he could and couldn’t do. He knew what laws to break and keep. Smoking tobacco on campus, or in the school, was one of the rules he disregarded, and no one dared to attempt to correct him. After LB walked out of class, he lit a Newport cigarette, inhaling the harsh and smooth menthol flavored smoke. Strutting toward the school entrance, he passed people on the way, giving them daps and saying ‘what’s up.’ Throwing up two fingers above his head, giving his deuces, he opened the door and walked out of the school.
Everything was still wet outside. He passed by Blair who was sitting on one of the chairs along the path to the parking lot. He gave her a nonchalant upward nod as he continued by, still smoking. After getting in his maroon 2009 Dodge Ram, he came around the parking lot until he stopped at the curb were Blair was sitting. He rolled down the passenger window and spoke to the chick, “Ay, B. You comin to my party Saturdizzle, right?” LB invited.

Blair just wanted to go home. And she was about to. She was about to leave, ditch the rest of the day and just go home. But she couldn't do that. She lifted her head and looked towards the guy that called out to her. It was about a party on Saturday. She looked at him. She didn't remember being... Oh wait that was right it was the party that she was supposed to ask Nate to go along with her. Of course she remembered what party it was now. She smiled up at LB and slightly nodded.
"See you Saturday!" She said and gave him a slight, but polite wave. She loved the car he drove, it caught her eye all the time she saw him drive by in it. Too bad she wasn't a closer friend to him than she already was. Sure they've none each other for a while, but still owning a car like that must get you somewhere. She smiled and sighed once more. But this time she dropped her head against her arms that were now folded on the table. She really had to ask Nate to this party before he made other plans. But then again if he made other plans, she'd just get him to cancel. She picked her head up and smiled as she took her phone out and dialed Nate.

“A’ight then!” LB shot her the deuces before he pulled away and put the window up. Taking another drag of his smoke, he glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Blair’s head down on her arms the table. She was just sitting there by herself. Where was her boy? Why wasn’t he around to do what LB was just about to do?
LB stopped, and reversed. Stopping back in front of Blair, he put down the darkly mirror tinted window of the passenger side again. Looking at the elite chick he asked, “Want me t’take you home?” As if enticing her, he revved the powerful 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine that powered the pickup truck. He’d seen the looks he got from people when he drove past, and he knew Blair was no different. It was such a beautiful color. It sounded sexy. It sung money. The ride was as smooth as he was, and he was never stingy about letting people ride in his truck. Blair could hear the passenger door unlock as a third invitation from where she was.

At first Blair was very unsure of what to do. But she was very bored, and she needed to get home. And she wasn't sure why Nate wasn't answering her calls. She stood up from the small bench that she sat on and walked away from the table. She nodded slightly at LB and smiled a bit. She snapped her phone shut and opened the passenger door to his car. After she got in she shut it and put her seat belt on. She looked at him and smiled. "Thank you." She said as she slipped her phone into her bag and zippered it shut.
As she leaned her head back against the seat, a million thoughts ran through her mind. A million harsh words she'd said to Chuck that previous night. It was like she was trapped in a horrible nightmare with him, all of the time. Though they did see eye to eye sometimes. And their wicked ways would always need a pat on the back from the other one. But what she said to him was horrible. I'm done.... they kept repeating over and over in her mind. He made her so angry that was all she wanted to say to him, and she did. But now she regretted it. A lot more than she thought she would last night. But her feelings were not going to do this to her again. She loved Nate, not Chuck. Though for some reason she felt like she needed to protect them both. Nate was her boyfriend, and she loved him a lot more than she would ever love Chuck.

The interior of his vehicle was clean like new. A lacey dark red thong always hung from his rearview mirror. An ashcup was in the forward-most cup holder. A high-quality radar detector was stuck to the windshield in the middle and just above the dash. His cab smelled like Bob Marley incense.
“F’sho.” LB said instead of ‘you’re welcome.’ As he drove, he turned up his system and let the bass bump and drowned out all other noise, and thoughts, with Zoe’s music. LB sung and rapped along with the lyrics but he couldn’t be heard. His bobbed his head with the beat. He finished his cigarette and dropped the butt down the hole of the ashcup.
By the end of the song, LB’s curiosity was killing him. He turned the music down and asked Blair, “So wuz up witchu and my boy, Chuck?” Not even twenty-four hours had elapsed since what happened. Such was the nature of gossip. And it always came back around.

It's a really nice car. She thought as they drove. But her thoughts were soon distracted when he asked what was up with her and Chuck. She scowled and rolled her eyes. She didn't know LB and Chuck were so close. Then again, now a days it seemed as though Chuck was pretty "close" with a lot of people. The thing that was "up" with him... her and his boy Chuck was that she was done dealing with him. She didn't want to deal with him, or anything about him anymore. Because whenever she felt for him, she always got hurt. And she knew he would never change. She knew he would always be the same. And even if he really did love her, she knew he couldn't pass up anything that had long hair, a pretty face and a slim waist.
She shook her head, he'd always be the same. But something about last night was bothering her. Was she really worried about him, worried that she was starting to fall hard for him too? Did she want to say something else, other than those horrid words she'd said to him? She did, she wanted to hold him and tell him that she would always care about him, and always be there for him. He knew what he meant to her. Does he really care? She looked out the window as her eyes fell, she shook her head softly. It's probably just another one of his games. She thought, then she looked at LB and gave him a small smile. "Whatever do you mean?" But she knew what he meant, she knew exactly what he was talking about. She sighed and let her eyes drift towards the front road ahead of them. "Just another one of his silly games." She said as she smiled and pretended like everything was okay.

Chuck and LB weren’t as close as he made it sound. They just hung out every once in a while at school. "Whatever do you mean?" “I heard you cut him loose.” "Just another one of his silly games." “And you quit playin so he couldn’t win, huh?” LB nodded in understanding, “So what about Nate? I heard you got that on lock.” He grinned at Blair. A female with so much power over men deserved respect. If she had two guys on her nuts, two popular guys, that’s saying a lot about her.

She looked at him. "I hope so." She said with a smile. "Sometimes Nate's not so predictable." She said and then she looked away once more. "This time it's going to be different though." She said with a sound of sureness in her voice with another smile. Because she wanted it to be different with Nate this time. But she looked at LB again. "And your boy Chuck. He'll always be a play boy." She knew that was a fact as well. Because she knew deep down in Chuck, she knew there was something that wanted him to change, but he didn't want to because he wouldn't want to ruin his reputation. And that was the problem with him. "He'd always be the same."

LB laughed when Blair said Chuck would always be a play boy, “Yeah.” Tech N9ne started rapping in LB’s pocket, telling him he had a phone call. Taking out his phone, he saw who it was and answered, “What up… yeah… a’ight. Late,” Slid his phone closed and dropped it in his lap, “We gotta take a short detour,” He told Blair while his eyes were still ahead, but they had to stop at a red light.

Blair wasn't sure what to say. She didn't really have a say in this at all actually. So she had to go along for the ride. "Yeah." She said to him and then her phone started to ring her in bag. She rolled her eyes because she knew who was texting just from the ringtone. She unzippered her bag and dug in there for her phone. She took it out and looked at the new message she had. "Looks like your party is already being talked about and it hasn't hapened yet." She said reading the text from Gossip Girl.

Shrugging and nodding, LB grinned, “Yea-eh!” He shook his head, “Y’already know,” It wasn’t a secret surprise. To LB, GG was a godsend. It’s believed that GG had to at least be an Elite to know so much and be everywhere. As having direct access to GG as it gets, through the internet, e-mail, IM, and txt message, LB seemed to use GG as his personal advertiser. He could tell her when he was going to have a party and everyone would know. He used her to let everyone know whose ass he had to mop after they picked a fight with him. LB had been debating with himself for a while on whether or not he should just spill the ‘dirt’ on himself that he sold weed and coke. The move would only advertise and increase his business opportunites.
His phone sung again, with Tatu’s “All the Things She Said.” Checking the txt message, he realized it was the same one from GG that Blair must have received. Mass txt. LB shrugged again, giving Blair an inevitable glance, “See? GG my lil billboard of America” He said stacking gang signs; just his hands and arms moved. His fingers moved quickly while his arms danced with the music in the truck.

Blair smiled and nodded. He was right about Gossip Girl. But Blair never understood much about her. She was always in a lot of places at once, and she knew a lot about well everything. ah, the wonders of living on the Upper East Side. There was nothing that happened that you didn't hear about in the next half hour when you lived up here. And as everyone says you're no one until you're talked about. Blair laughed aloud, and then after a few seconds she became serious again. "So where are we going anyway?"

The light turned green. LB stopped, and they were moving again, “Pick up my nephews from school.” He answered. Changing his expression to one who looked pissed off, he raised the pitch of his voice he comically asked, “Why? You in a hurry or some’m?” Returning to his regular grin and voice, “Nah, I’m just playin. They just at Parker,” Parker Middle School wasn’t too far. LB asked Blair, “What aboutchu? You a auntie?”

Blair laughed and slipped her phone back into her back. "No, I'm an only child." She said as she looked away from him and out the window on her side. A feeling of sadness started to take over her emotions. She was now starting to think about her father in France, and when she last saw him. She missed him so much. But she wasn't going to cry now. She never cried in front of others, that wasn't like her and well she didn't want anyone to know. So she held back her tears and she smiled at him once more. "It must be a lot of work." She said talking about LB being an uncle. She had no idea what it was like.
